Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 August 2026

This policy explains what information Loopsee s. r. o. collects when you use the Loopsee app and website, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language – if anything is unclear, contact us at hello@getloopsee.com.

1. Who we are

Loopsee is operated by Loopsee s. r. o., a company based in Bratislava, Slovakia. For the purposes of EU data protection law (GDPR), Loopsee s. r. o. is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to the Loopsee mobile app and to this website (getloopsee.com). Loopsee is currently offered as a private beta, so some features described here may change as the product develops. When they do, we will update this policy.

3. Information we collect

Broadly, we work with three kinds of information:

  • information you give us directly – such as your account details, your profile introduction and the Loops you create;
  • information generated when you use Loopsee – such as the structured matching profile we build from your input, match records and messages;
  • limited technical information – such as server logs and push notification tokens.

Loopsee does not show advertising and does not sell your personal information. The app does not include third-party advertising or analytics software.

4. Information you provide

  • Account details. An email address and a password, used to create and sign in to your account. We also send email confirmation and password reset messages to this address.
  • Display name. A first name or nickname that other users can see when you match.
  • Profile photo. Optionally, a photo you choose from your library, or one of the preset Loopsee avatars.
  • Private introduction. Text you type, voice you record or a short video introduction you record to tell Loopsee about yourself. This is used to build your private profile (see section 5) and is not shown to other users as-is.
  • Loops. When you create a Loop, you describe – by typing or by voice – what you want to do, when, where, and any preferences about who you would like to meet (for example languages, or an age range you mention).
  • Messages. Messages you send in a chat after a match.
  • Feedback and reports. Feedback you give about matches and interactions, and any safety reports you submit.
  • Correspondence. Anything you send us by email, for example to hello@getloopsee.com.

5. Information generated when you use Loopsee

Loopsee turns your free-form input into structured information so that matching can work. This includes:

  • a private matching profile derived from your introduction and your activity – for example interests, activities, availability, languages and preferences – together with a history of the input it was built from (including transcripts of voice or video input);
  • a structured representation of each Loop you create, including the activity, timing, location and preferences it describes, and matching signals derived from it;
  • match records, including short summaries that explain why a match could work;
  • trust signals, such as how long your account has existed, whether you have completed a video introduction, and aggregated feedback from other users;
  • a push notification token and device platform, if you enable notifications.

Your private matching profile is used to find and evaluate matches. It is not shown to other users; matched users see your display name, your photo (if you set one) and a summary relevant to the match.

6. Location information

Loops usually include a place – a city, neighbourhood or venue you describe. We convert these descriptions into structured place information (such as coordinates and a normalised place name) using a geocoding service, so that Loops can be matched by proximity. Venue names that users confirm may be added to a shared venue catalogue so Loopsee recognises them more reliably over time.

If you grant the app location permission, Loopsee may also use an approximate version of your device location – deliberately coarsened to roughly one kilometre – to prefer nearby results. Loopsee does not track your movements in the background and does not store your precise device location.

7. AI-assisted processing

Loopsee uses AI systems to make matching work. Specifically, AI is used to:

  • transcribe voice and video input into text;
  • interpret what you wrote or said and turn it into the structured Loop and profile information described above;
  • evaluate how well two Loops and their creators might fit together, and write short explanations of proposed matches;
  • gradually refine your private matching profile based on your input and feedback;
  • resolve venue and place names, which in some cases may involve an AI system performing a limited web search for publicly available venue information.

Voice recordings and video introductions are processed to produce a transcript and the derived profile information; the raw recordings themselves are not kept after processing. We keep limited records about AI processing for a short period for debugging and quality control.

AI output on Loopsee is limited to suggestions – who might be a relevant match and why. It can be imperfect, and it never makes decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you. Whether to connect or meet anyone is always your decision.

8. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • provide Loopsee – creating your account, building your profile, running matching and delivering chats and notifications (this is necessary to perform our contract with you);
  • keep the service safe and secure – preventing abuse, handling safety reports, rate limiting and troubleshooting (our legitimate interest in running a safe service);
  • improve matching quality – for example refining how input is interpreted and how matches are scored (our legitimate interest in improving the service, and your consent where the law requires it);
  • communicate with you – account emails such as confirmation and password reset, and replies to your support requests;
  • comply with legal obligations that apply to us.

Access to your device’s location, camera, microphone and photo library is only used with your permission, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings.

9. Matching and recommendations

Matching combines straightforward filters (such as activity type, language and location) with AI-based scoring of how well two requests fit together. When Loopsee proposes a match, each side sees a summary explaining why the match could work, based on what each person shared in their Loop and profile. Loopsee suggests potentially relevant people; it does not guarantee a match, and it does not automatically share your raw input with anyone.

10. Communications

  • Chat – after a match, you can exchange messages with the other person. Messages are stored so they can be delivered and displayed.
  • Push notifications – if you enable them, we use your device’s push token to notify you, for example about new matches or messages.
  • Account emails – email confirmation and password reset messages.
  • Support – replies to messages you send us.

11. Service providers and third parties

We use a small number of service providers to run Loopsee. They process information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service:

  • Supabase – database, authentication and file storage (accounts, profiles, Loops, matches, messages, profile photos).
  • OpenAI – AI processing (transcription of voice and video input, interpretation of Loop and profile text, match scoring and explanations, venue resolution).
  • Mapbox – geocoding of the places described in Loops.
  • Expo – app builds, app updates and delivery of push notifications.
  • Render – hosting of our backend services.
  • Resend – delivery of internal operational emails to the Loopsee team.
  • Apple – distribution of the iOS app.

12. How we share information

We share personal information only:

  • with other users, to the limited extent described in this policy – your display name, photo and match-relevant summaries when you match, and the messages you choose to send;
  • with the service providers listed above, so they can provide their services to us;
  • when we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid request from authorities.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.

13. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. In practice, most of your information is kept while your account exists and is deleted when you delete your account (see section 14). Diagnostic records about AI processing are kept only for a limited period. Server logs used for security and troubleshooting are kept for a short time.

14. Account deletion

You can permanently delete your account directly in the app. Deletion takes effect immediately and removes your account, profile, private introduction, Loops, matches, feedback and trust history, profile photo and push tokens. People you previously matched with may keep an anonymised, read-only version of past conversations, in which you appear only as “Deleted Loopsee user”. See the delete account page for exact steps.

15. Security

Information is transmitted over encrypted connections, and access to production data is restricted. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration and loss, and we will keep improving our safeguards as Loopsee grows.

16. International data transfers

Some of our service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the data protection commitments and safeguards offered by those providers. You can contact us for more information about how a specific provider handles your data.

17. Your privacy rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • have your information deleted (you can do this yourself by deleting your account);
  • restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on our legitimate interests;
  • receive a copy of information you provided in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@getloopsee.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority – in Slovakia, the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic.

18. Children and age eligibility

Loopsee is not directed to children. If you believe a child has created an account or provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@getloopsee.com and we will delete it.

19. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as Loopsee evolves. When we do, we will publish the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. If a change is significant, we will make reasonable efforts to bring it to your attention.
